Cravings were at a minimum today, but I know my excitement for this new plan helped that. Maybe they'll get stronger in the next few days, but now I know that I CAN eat this way!
Oh, one funny thing that happened, though...last night, I had a dream that I was eating a piece of cheese pizza, and all of a sudden I said, "Oh no! I started the cleanse today and I already messed up!!" Guess it's been on my mind, huh? ;-)

QUESTION FOR YOU...What's the randomest fruit you've eaten? How did you like it?
Holy cow Kelly... how are you doing that? I'm already impressed!
ReplyDeleteSooo, the million dollar question is do you feel any different yet?
I don't think I've eaten any random fruit though, I know JC @ T-word tried to force many random fruits into our lives, but I managed to duck them all! :)
Hahahaha, that's right! I forgot about that!
ReplyDeleteI don't feel any different yet, but I think after a few days I'll feel a difference. I'll let ya know... :-)
yay sis! this is a fun and rewarding journey. we had the same breakfast today, so awesome! when I saw kathy on the dr. oz show, I never thought I'd find anyone else who would be up for doing it. :) get ready for the cravings...they're coming tomorrow...and the next day. keep nuts and the veggie chips handy, because they've been great at warding off the cravings. carson and I are already noticing that our skin looks brighter and clearer. also, carson's already lost 6 lbs (what a brat!!). I've lost one, haha.
ReplyDeleteby the way, we found the awesomest (trying to keep the slang grammar going) gluten-free pizza crust today, and made it for dinner. mine was piled 2 inches high with mushrooms, carmelized onions, corn and garlic. it was amazing!
randomest fruit I've ever eaten: kumquat. very random, and very strange. it's a mini orange (the size of a grape) that you eat rind and all. I wasn't a big fan.
Oooh, let's make that pizza again one night!!

ReplyDeletehere is how trav and I make our green smoothies every morning (Trav loves to pile in the greens, and you can't even taste them):
ReplyDeletea bit of crushed ice
about 1/4 c. soy milk
soy protein powder (when I'm not on the cleanse I use vanilla flavor)
small handful of spinach leaves
small handful of kale and/or parsley (even frozen broccoli if you want)
big handful of strawberries, blueberries and whatever other fruit you have around (plums, peaches, etc are all good)
a small (or 1/2) banana (to give it a creamy texture)
1 tbsp flaxseeds (if you want...really good fiber and omegas, but it tends to be a little gritty.) I've found that if you blend up the flaxseeds first (before you put anything else in the blender), the consistency is best.
blend it all up really, really well. I take the blender cup off and shake it in between blending to make sure it all gets blended well, and I probably blend it for at least 2 minutes total. you want it to be a smooth consistency with no chunks. voila! a yummy smoothie that you'd never even knew had more greens than the average person gets in a day. :)
oh, and at first you need to make sure you add more fruit than greens, because your body needs time to get used to the greens. after a couple weeks, you can put more greens than fruit.
